COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT & ECONOMIC RESILIENCE

As the world's first Black republic, Haiti holds a legacy of revolutionary leadership and entrepreneurial brilliance. From the formidable Madan Sara market women to a global diaspora fueling transnational commerce, Haiti's economic foundation is rooted in innovation, resilience, and community-driven enterprise.

Rooted in a deep commitment to give back to their home country, Bracing Neighbors was built to do more than serve-it was designed to activate Haiti's untapped economic potential by bridging local talent with broader market opportunities. At its core is a belief that every woman and young person in Haiti deserves the tools and support to grow beyond local success and achieve meaningful, connected growth.

Enhancing Lives

GECA is committed to making a positive impact in Haitian communities beyond our core business activities. We believe in the power of giving back and contributing to the well-being of those around us. Inspired by our mission to empower women-led enterprises, we extend our support to organizations like Fondation Bracing Neighbors Haiti, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing essential resources and support to underprivileged communities in Haiti.

Word from the Founder

"As a Haitian woman who built the country's first interconnected credit union platform, I understand firsthand the barriers that exist, and more importantly, the pathways around them. I founded Bracing Neighbors because I know what's possible when Haitian women have access to the same opportunities I was able to create for myself."

CASE STUDY

How a Livestock Lending Program in Haiti is Building Real Wealth and Fuels Economic Reslience for Women

In a bold departure from traditional aid models, Bracing Neighbors, in partnership with GECA, has launched an innovative livestock lending program that's transforming the economic landscape for women in southern Haiti. Instead of distributing cash, the initiative provides goats and chicken as rotating capital- generating wealth, food security, and community solidarity.

"THIS IS NOT AID
IT'S A STRATEGY."

“By using livestock as capital, we’re building sustainable, intergenerational wealth—especially for women who have been historically excluded from financial systems.”

A Vital Obligation

"In a country like Haiti, where social and economic vulnerabilities run deep, Corporate Social Responsibility is not just a value-add—it’s a vital obligation. Businesses have the power and responsibility to be engines of resilience, inclusion, and long-term development."
